Indian Point 3 nuclear power plant is back on line after the 13th refueling outage. Workers replaced 96 of the 193 fuel assemblies used in the reactor during operation.

Employees performed scheduled maintenance that can only be done while the plant is shut down and also upgraded equipment to allow an increase in electrical power output by about 45 megawatts.

Recently the Nuclear Regulator Commission gave both Indian Point plants good grades in its annual assessment. "Indian Point (both plants) operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety, and fully met all cornerstone objectives," the NRC stated. The four cornerstones relate to reactor safety, public safety, and security.
